Background notes

A hidden meaning? Maybe. Some people consider this old nursery rhyme to have quite a dark background going back until the 16th century. We decided to see the lyrics in a friendly way and we used a very soft arrangement. The message should be very simple: No matter what went wrong, just wait and see and everything will be fine in the end. Apart from these considerations this nursery rhymes shows how deeply traditional nursery rhymes are embedded into the English cultural heritage. The English Popstar Robbie Williams quotes the line "Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep" in the 3rd verse of his Superhit "Let Me Entertain You". This is only one of many examples of contemporary literature, cinema or music quoting traditional nursery rhymes.
